
Carrington delivers lecture on electoral reform

A former US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Walter Carrington will today deliver a public lecture titled “Electoral Reform and Good Governance: Lessons for Nigeria” as part of activities marking the first year in office of Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State.
According to a statement by the Information Commissioner, Ranti Akerele, the former Senate President Senator Ken Nnamani is the chairman while the immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be the guest of honour.
The governor has continued with the commissioning of projects across the states as part of the activities lined up for his first year in office.
Last weekend Governor Mimiko commissioned projects in the northern senatorial district of the state which included quick-win projects in Uso and Ilale Keji, Owo local government area of the state.
Projects which were commissioned were a health centre in Igbe, a garri processing factory in Ilale-Keji and a town hall in Uso.
Governor Mimiko is expected to do same this week in the southern senatorial district and thereafter move to the central senatorial area.
Projects to be commissioned include the mother and child hospital and the neighborhood markets.
