1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, or using the Ondo State Government website, mobile applications, online services, or any digital platform operated by the Ondo State Government (collectively, the "Services"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations.

If you do not agree to these terms, you are not authorized to use our Services. The Ondo State Government reserves the right to modify these terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the Services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms.

The Ondo State Government provides a range of digital services including but not limited to:

  • Government Information Portal: Access to official government information, news, publications, and announcements
  • E-Services Platform: Online government services including business registration, tax payments, permit applications, and document requests
  • Interactive Tools: AI chat assistance, interactive maps, and data visualization tools
  • Multimedia Content: Videos, images, galleries, and educational materials about Ondo State
  • Social Media Integration: Links to official government social media accounts
  • Mobile Applications: Official government apps for smartphones and tablets

These services are provided for informational and transactional purposes to enhance citizen engagement and streamline government processes. While we strive to ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date, we make no warranties regarding the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of this information.

3. User Obligations

When using our Services, you agree to:

  • Provide Accurate Information: When registering for services or submitting forms, you must provide true, accurate, current, and complete information about yourself
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Keep your account credentials secure and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • Lawful Use: Use the Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable Nigerian laws and regulations
  • Respect Others: Not harass, abuse, impersonate, or intimidate other users or government officials
  • No Malicious Activity: Not introduce viruses, worms, malware, or other harmful code
  • No Interference: Not interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
  • No Unauthorized Access: Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or government systems
  • No Data Mining: Not scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Services without written permission

Violation of these obligations may result in termination of your access and potential legal action.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

The Ondo State Government respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. All content on our Services, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, video clips, data compilations, and software, is the property of the Ondo State Government or its content suppliers and is protected by Nigerian and international copyright laws.

4.1 Government Content

Most content published by the Ondo State Government is in the public domain and may be used freely, subject to the following conditions:

  • You must acknowledge the Ondo State Government as the source of the information

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. THE ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE
  • THAT THE RESULTS THAT MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE USE OF THE SERVICES WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE
  • THAT THE QUALITY OF ANY PRODUCTS, SERVICES, INFORMATION, OR OTHER MATERIAL PURCHASED OR OBTAINED BY YOU THROUGH THE SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS
  • THAT ANY ERRORS IN THE SOFTWARE WILL BE CORRECTED

ANY MATERIAL DOWNLOADED OR OTHERWISE OBTAINED THROUGH THE USE OF THE SERVICES IS ACCESSED AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK, AND YOU WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM OR LOSS OF DATA THAT RESULTS FROM THE DOWNLOAD OF ANY SUCH MATERIAL.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT, ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES
  • ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICES
  • ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICES
  • UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT
  • STATEMENTS OR CONDUCT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICES

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID, IF ANY, TO USE THE SERVICES.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Ondo State Government, its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from:

  • Your use of and access to the Services
  • Your violation of any term of these Terms of Service
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right
  • Any claim that your use of the Services caused damage to a third party

10. Termination

The Ondo State Government may terminate or suspend your access to all or any part of the Services at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Services. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the courts located in Akure, Ondo State, and you hereby submit to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.

12. Changes to Terms

The Ondo State Government reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Services after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
